Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree.
Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings!…” (Amos 9:13-15 MSG)

I wrote this piece as a tribute to Mrs. Lorenzo, not her real name. As a person, she was very friendly, strong-willed, well-informed, and witty, among her numerous sterling qualities. However, she was very sickly, and she was in and out of the hospital on several occasions. Despite that, she was usually very lively and willing to help people. She was a lot older than me!

I first met Mrs. Lorenzo many years ago when I was working in a hospital in Nigeria. At that time, she had been on admission for many days, without any noticeable improvement in her health. As I was attending to my patients one morning, the head nurse on duty entreated me to review her case because she was in much pain. Mrs. Lorenzo was not my patient, neither was she assigned to my team, but I agreed to attend to her, nonetheless.

I went straight to her, and after I had finished examining her and reviewing her case note, I discovered that her doctors had done an excellent job on her; I had nothing to add to or subtract from their line of management. So, I reassured and promised her that I would keep an eye on her. Somehow, she found out that I am a Christian, and she asked me if God could heal her, and I said yes, He could, only if she believed. Eventually, we prayed together, and I asked God to quicken her healing in the name of Jesus Christ. I left her bedside shortly afterward and continued to attend to my patients.

Later that day, I was called to review a patient in the same ward, and on getting there, I saw Mrs. Lorenzo and her relations singing, dancing, and praising the name of God together. Then, I asked one of the nurses why they were so happy, and she said, shortly after I finished praying for Mrs. Lorenzo earlier in the morning, she went to her bed and slept soundly, for the first time in several weeks, and on waking up, she was completely alright. Moreover, her vital signs had normalized fully. It was as if she never took ill before! Her doctors discharged her the following day, and she enjoyed relatively good health for many years subsequently.

Sadly, Mrs. Lorenzo passed on to glory recently at a ripe age of nearly eighty years. May her sweet soul find perfect peace and rest in the Lord her Maker, in Jesus name. Amen.

Friend, God quickened Mrs. Lorenzo’s healing, and she enjoyed relatively good health for many years subsequently. This God can repeat the same feat in various facets of your life too if you believe (Mark 9:23). For example, He can quicken your healing and restore good health to you (Jeremiah 30:17). He can also quicken the work of your hands to bless you (Deuteronomy 28:12). Besides, He can quicken your promotion, which He controls solely anyway (Psalm 75:6-7 KJV). Not only that, He can quicken His words concerning your children to bless them (Isaiah 44:3-5).

God can quicken you so much that whatever He says about you will come to pass unfailingly (Ezekiel 12:25). Additionally, He will negate every adverse counsel and plan people have against you (Psalm 33:10). You will no longer require the influence of people to succeed because the grace of God will be sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 9:8), and the latter part of your life will be better than the beginning (Job 8:7).

Please, get ready for the quickening that is coming your way before long, and those things you once considered to be very hard or impossible, will begin to happen so quickly that your head will swim. But you have to take the limit off God from now on and begin to believe Him, and He will fill your heart with joy and mouth with songs of praise, in Jesus name. Amen.

Jesus is Lord!
