GOD WILL TURN YOUR NO TO A YES!

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20)

Towards the end of my training in medical school, I landed in a lecturer’s bad books due to no fault of mine. A time soon came, and he had to examine me in one of the major courses. He was very glad to have me and swore to deal with me.

As expected, he made the exercise hard for me by interrupting me on and on. I knew he was all out to provoke me! Sadly, I played into his hands. I got angry, talked to him rudely, and stormed out of his office. As a result, he failed me. That was a big NO for me to leave the University on time.

I went home later that day and told my mum what I had done. Of course, she was unhappy with me. She told me I should not have been that angry. She then advised me always to be patient. Well, I said I was sorry. I also said I would do better next time. In the end, she prayed for me and asked God to help me out.

Some days after, I went back to my Uni to find out that I had another chance to face a different teacher. I was very glad! I later presented my paper to him, and I did very well. That is, God turned my No to a Yes! And that paved the way for me to leave the Uni in good time.

Is there a No in your life right now? Is it hindering you? And does it appear to be permanent? Are you on the verge of giving up? If you are, please, pay attention to me. God can turn it to a Yes! Yes, for good health (Psalm 41:3) and long life (Psalm 91:16).

Your promotion will also get a Yes from God (Psalm 75:6-7 (KJV)). And you will prosper; He wants you to do so (Psalm 35:27). Are you looking for a good job, a good spouse, a good house, etc.? If you are, then rejoice! God will favor you, and you will get a Yes for them (Psalm 84:11).

There will be a loud Yes for your children, and God will save them (Isaiah 49:25). Are you barren? Do you want to have a child of your own? If you do, a Yes is in the offing (Psalm 37:4)! Are you sad or grieving at the moment? If you are, a Yes is coming by way of joy soon (Psalm 30:5).

Kindly commit your No into God’s hands today, and a Yes will come before long. Please, wait for it! (Habakkuk 2:3) In the end, your joy will be full, and your life will not remain the same again, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

GOD WILL EXCEED YOUR EXPECTATION!

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…” (Ephesians 3:20)

I once got posted to a rural town to work as a young Medical Doctor. And at that time, it seemed I would have a hard time there. So, I rejected the posting and got some influential people to support me.

I soon realized that it would not be easy for me to have my way. To begin with, the man who did the posting was a strong-willed man. He had scant regard for people and never changed his mind on issues he controlled. He was indeed a difficult man!

Those who knew him advised me not to approach him to help me since he would do no such thing. But I ignored them. I subsequently spent many days praying to God to touch his mind for me. I believed He would! (Proverbs 21:1)

One day, I went to the man’s office. And when I got there, I saw him shouting at the people with him. He was mean to them! As one would expect, he did not even look at the messages I brought from my backers, appealing to him to help me. But I was not scared of him! (Psalm 118:6)

At a point, he looked at me and said, “Mr. Man, who are you, and what are you doing here?” From his tone, one would think I committed a crime. Well, I told him my name and boldly asked him to change my posting. He laughed and then urged me to visit the said town first. He said I would like it, but he would grant my request if I didn’t.

As you can see, the man was kind to me. Meanwhile, he was known for his unkindness and stubbornness! In any case, I went to the town as he advised, and I liked it at first sight. I also fell in love with its hospital. It looked cute, clean, and well organized. Guess what! I did not reject the posting after all.

I went on to have one of the best moments of my life in the town. Its people were good to me, and with my colleagues, I helped them solve many of their health and other problems. God exceeded my expectation there! He is willing and able to exceed yours, too, if you involve Him in your matters.

Do you want to write a book, record a song, or produce a film? Do you want to get married and have children one day? Do you want to build a school, start your business or ministry? Do you want to go back to school or learn a trade? Are you bereaved, and do you want to be happy again, etc.? Whatever your plan is, please, pray to God to help you, and He will! (Psalm 84:11)

He will cause people to be good to you. And you will experience divine favor, speed, and grace. You will lack nothing, which you need to succeed. Before long, people will notice you, warm up to you and join you to praise the name of the Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

GOD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU!

The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:14)

I once worked with some people in a hospital in Nigeria. They are indigenes of the area where it is. In general, many of them believed it was their right to occupy the top positions in all the establishments in their zone. I am not from there!

Not long after I resumed work in the hospital, I noticed that some doctors were uncomfortable with me in their midst. According to them, the management favored me too much! They soon arranged a meeting presided over by a consultant sympathetic to their cause. In it, they planned to make me work under a nasty senior doctor, in another department. They felt they could frustrate me out of the system through him! I did not train to function in his department!

But to make the meeting look fair, three other doctors at my level were invited to it, purportedly for screening. They attended the meeting armed with firm instructions from their godfathers to remain where they were. That meant I had to move, come what may. On my path, I turned to God, the ultimate Godfather, to support me!

At some point during the meeting, the chairperson ordered me to move to the position they had in mind. I did not argue with her! Within me, I felt hurt but assured that God would fight for me in some way. Suddenly, the chairperson changed her mind and ordered the plot’s instigator to move to the department she earlier asked me to join. She also asked me politely to remain where I was, and I did.

I later heard that the cruel senior doctor fought the other doctor publicly one day. I remained where I was and did very well. I give God praise! The Lord fought the doctors for me while I held my peace (Exodus 14:14). He will fight your troublers for you too if you allow Him.

God will fight for you and save your children (Isaiah 49:25). He will also fight for your business to thrive. Remember, He wants you to prosper (3 John 2). Besides, God will fight your afflictions and deliver you from them all (Psalm 34:19). He will fight those who plan to disgrace you, and they shall be ashamed and greatly troubled (Psalm 6:9-10). ETC.

Please get set for God to fight anyone, group of people, institutions, circumstances, etc., that rise against you for the wrong reasons, for you to enjoy His stunning plan for you (Jeremiah 29:11), in Jesus’ name. Amen.

LET’S DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY THIS YEAR 2021!

The Boll Weevils are beetles that fed on cotton buds and flowers. They entered the U.S. from Mexico in the late 1800s. By the 1920s, they had spread through the country’s cotton-producing areas, and the devastation they left behind was mind-boggling. They ruined plantations after plantations, devastated the cotton industry, and left many people poor and distressed.

Amid the great loss and the grim situation around, a farmer in Alabama, USA, decided to do things differently. He opted to grow peanuts (groundnuts) instead of cotton. He quickly discovered that the Boll Weevils could not destroy peanuts as powerful as they are.

So, he introduced his colleagues to peanut farming. Of course, they resisted his idea initially. They wanted to continue planting cotton because that was the only crop they knew how to grow. But thank God, they listened to and joined him at the end of the day.

To their greatest surprise, they made so much profit at the end of that year’s planting season than they would have made if they grew cotton. Many farmers in the area never went back to planting cotton, even after the Boll Weevils’ scourge ended. The man and his colleagues did things differently, and they were better off for it!

As you enter the year 2021, please, look back, and consider those things you could do differently. Ask yourself what works and bears fruits in your life? What are those things that make you happy? What do you do with ease? What can you do to be more productive, passionate, loving, generous, etc.? Identify them, work on them, and do them differently.

To do all the above, you may have to walk away from bad behaviors. You may also have to be kinder and more sensitive to people’s plight. Besides, you may have to make yourself less hard to get on with. Avoid looking down on people and don’t kill their dreams. Be more tolerant, more forgiving, and more approachable.

Please, upgrade your skills. Attend appropriate courses, and read relevant books. You need to move with brilliant people and let sound people mentor you. Above all, trust God to direct your path, and He will. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Make sure you read your Bible often to succeed (Joshua 1:8) and pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). You may have to fast and pray to achieve great miracles, too (Matthew 17:21). Please, reach out to the poor, and the Lord will deliver you in the day of trouble (Psalm 41:1).

And if you are not born again, or better still, if you have no close relationship with Jesus Christ, then sort that out this year. He is waiting to partner with you (Revelation 3:20).

If you do all the above and more this New Year, God will help you, and you will go where you have never been before, accomplish what you thought is impossible, and attain the level you could not reach on your own, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Happy New Year!

MAKE THAT MOVE RIGHT NOW!

Today, I remember Leo, not his real name, who was prompted in the Spirit to make a specific move at a crucial point in his life. He did and got extraordinary results afterward.

Leo moved abroad to further his career at his friend’s invitation. His friend promised to support him in all possible ways, and he believed. As a result, he resigned from his job, sold his belongings to raise some money, and jetted off to meet his friend.

Initially, Leo’s friend was nice to him, but that lasted for only a short time. He quickly changed and made life unbearable for Leo. At some point, he (Leo) wanted to return home, but to what? He asked himself repeatedly. In the end, he rejected the idea of leaving his friend. He made up his mind to plod on regardless.

One day, as he pondered over his ordeals, the Holy Spirit prompted him to move out of his friend’s house and fend for himself. He felt that was not a wise thing to do since he had no place to move to or anyone to help him. But the Holy Spirit assured him that God would support him to the hilt if he obeyed, and he did.

By faith, Tommy approached an estate agent for a flat the following day, even though he had no money to pay the rent yet. Then, on the day he was asked to pay a deposit and collect the keys into his would be flat, the Lord showed Himself mighty in his life. First, he got a call that he had landed a job, which he had lost all hopes of getting. Then, his brother paid a decent amount of money into his bank account that same day.

So, he went to the estate agent with confidence, paid the required deposit, went to his friend’s house, collected his belongings, thanked him, and moved out into his own flat. That is, he moved into total freedom and a new beginning. Today, Tommy is doing well with his family. Truly, God supported him to the hilt! He is ready to support you, too, if you obey Him.

What is it that God asking you to do today? Is He asking you to change your location for your situation to change? Is He asking you to change your job or career? Is He asking you to start a business? Is He asking you to enroll for an examination? Is He asking you to write a book? Is He asking you to get married and start your own family? Is He asking you to serve Him in any specific capacity? ETC. If He is, then you need to obey Him! You need to make that move right now!!

If you obey God, He will not leave or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6); He will help you (Isaiah 41:10); He will bless you (Deuteronomy 28:1-14); He will protect you (Psalm 91:11), etc., and your life will not remain the same, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Merry Xmas in advance!

YES, GOD CAN DO IT!

With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” (Mark 10:27)

I remembered Mrs. Suzanne, not her real name, recently. She was a beautiful, polite, well-connected, and rich businesswoman. She had all things going very well for her, but she had no child. She was under immense pressure from her husband and family to give birth to children or get thrown out of her matrimonial home. Such is common in our culture!

One day, she went to her gynecologist, a first-class professor, for an appointment. He later told her she would not give birth to children because of her complex gynecological history. Thus, confirming what many gynecologists in Nigeria and abroad told her in the past. There was no IVF treatment at that time. So, that was the end of the road for her, as far as childbearing was concerned.

As she was sobbing in a quiet corner of the hospital, another professor, not a gynecologist, came to her and asked why she was crying, and she narrated her ordeal to him. In the end, the professor, who is also a born-again Christian, told her God could give her a child in Jesus’ name.

She believed, and they prayed together that it would be so. She gave her life to Christ that day! A few months later, she became pregnant, without medical help, and gave birth to a baby boy nine months after. I understand she had other children in the latter years. In short, God resolved her childlessness problem through Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

God can do the same for you today if you wish (Luke 1:37). But it would help if you make Jesus Christ your personal Lord and Saviour, first. That is, you must be born again if you aren’t yet. Please, invite Him into your life today; He will not snub you (John 6:37).

Confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Once you have taken this simple but vital step, then you are born again (Romans 10:10), and God will be glad to sort you out through Jesus Christ (Matthew 11:28).

He will solve your childlessness problem and give you children (Psalms 127:3). And if you are single, He will provide you with a good person that will love and marry you, as well as add value to your life (Psalm 84:11). God will fight for you and save your children (Isaiah 49:25), and they will serve the Lord with you (Joshua 24:15).

Maybe your business or ministry is not doing well lately. Don’t worry; God will boost it (Deuteronomy 30:9), and it will increase rapidly, vastly, and beyond your wildest imagination (Ephesians 3:20).

Please, get set for a special touch from God in your life. It will surely come, so, wait for it (Habakkuk 2:3). And when it comes, it will thrust you forward and upwards quickly, and your joy will be full, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

YOUR TROUBLE SHALL COME TO PASS!

…It Shall Come To Pass…

I once read about a pastor who oversaw a small rural church. He liked giving people the chance to testify to God’s goodness in their lives, each time he preached. One Sunday morning, he urged each testifier to begin his or her testimony with an appropriate Bible passage.

The first person got up and quoted Philippians 4:19: “and my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” He then narrated how God supplied all his needs during the week, such that he was able to feed his family and pay his children’s school fees with ease, even though he had no hope of doing so earlier.

After that, another person got up and quoted Galatians 6:9: “and let us not grow weary while doing good, for, in due season, we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” He told the congregation how someone he helped reluctantly in the past returned to give him a decent amount of money, which he used to settle his child’s medical bill.

Next, the third person got up and cited Psalms 107:20: “he sent his words, and he healed them and delivered them from their destructions.” She went on to narrate how God delivered her from a long-standing illness. Before then, she went to several places for help, all to no avail, until she encountered a man of God who prayed for her and got healed subsequently.

Several other people gave their testimonies one after the other that day, and the church was thoroughly blessed. Finally, an elderly man got up, and his quotation was straightforward: “it shall come to pass.”

The Bible quotation above is very common, and his testimony was that he had many problems before, which he tried to solve all by himself without success. He was ill, his children were badly-behaved and always in conflict with the police. Besides, his wife’s business, their only means of livelihood, had collapsed, and they were neck-deep in debt.

One day, he tried to commit suicide, but he abandoned the idea because of its problems. Eventually, he fasted and prayed to God to deliver him. Then, after a while, help started to come from various quarters, and his problems got sorted out one by one. That is, they came to pass! He ended his testimony by urging everyone in the congregation to take their troubles to God for resolution, and they will come to pass.

Friends, what is it that makes your life so difficult these days and would not allow you to rest? Is it an illness, a lack, joblessness, a failed business, an academic or professional stagnation, a divorce, an addiction, a debt, a legal tussle, etc.? Whatever it is, I challenge you right now, as the older man did, to take it to God for resolution. It Shall Come to Pass (Matthew 11:28), sooner or later, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Jesus is Lord!
