You Shall See Them no More!

We shall be looking at Zechariah 4:7 in this write up. In it, the Lord said: ‘’who are you, o great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain’’.

This is a very popular passage in the bible, which has brought succor to many troubled minds in the past. It is very comforting, and it gives assurance to all and sundry that all will be well with them at some point; the prevailing ugly circumstances notwithstanding.

Now, before we proceed any further, let us look at the word MOUNTAIN more closely so as to understand the import of this write up better. By definition, a mountain is a very high, steep hill. It can also be regarded as a large pile or quantity of something. When the ‘something’ is good then, there is no problem. Problem however arises, when it make people’s lives difficult. Examples include illness, poverty, joblessness, barrenness, ill luck, academic regression, professional inertia, divorce, and addiction.

Friend, I am very happy for you if you’ve had manageable mountains all your life; please accept my congratulations! But, if by chance you’ve had bad mountains most of the time then, I sincerely sympathize with you. Know that mountains, even though nasty, are undeniable parts of living. But God does not want them to make our lives unnecessarily difficult, and if they do, He wants them removed very quickly (Zechariah 4:7).

He wants all the restrictive mountains in your life removed as well. This He confirmed in Isaiah 41:11-13, as follows:

11. Behold, all those who were incensed against you Shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing, And those who strive with you shall perish. 12. You shall seek them and not find them— Those who contended with you. Those who war against you Shall be as nothing, As a nonexistent thing. 13. For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’

From the above Friend, it is evident that your future is very bright, and that calls for celebrations. This is not the time for you to brood over past difficulties and disappointments; this is not the time for you to moan or groan; this is the time for you to rejoice!

As you continue with your life, let me encourage you with Exodus 14:13c-14, which says: 13…“Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians (i.e. the mountains) whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. 14. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

So shall it be in Jesus name. Amen.

Jesus is Lord!
