Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake’’ (Isaiah 54:15 (KJV))

I used to work in a Nigerian hospital some years back. It is in one of the restive areas of the country, and most of its workers were indigenes of the place. Many of them, however, believed it was their inalienable right to occupy all the top positions in the establishments sited in their area, including hospitals, to the total exclusion of other Nigerians, and this type of mindset brought about bad blood on several occasions.

Not long after I resumed work in the hospital, I noticed that some doctors at my level, who are indigenes of the area, believed the management of the hospital favored me above them, and they became uncomfortable with me being in their midst. Of course, they were not right! In the end, they moved to frustrate me out of the system, but I made up my mind not to give them the pleasure of achieving their fantasy.

One afternoon, they arranged an impromptu meeting, which was presided over by a Senior Consultant that was sympathetic to their cause, and who never hid her dislike for me at any time, for reasons best known to her. The main agenda of the meeting, although hidden, was to move me from the department I was legally employed to be a part of, to another headed by a notorious cruel senior doctor.

But in order to make the meeting appear fair, three doctors at my level, including myself and the person who spearheaded the conspiracy against me, were invited to it, purportedly for screening. It was when I got there that I discovered that the other doctors came to it, armed with firm instructions from their powerful godfathers within the system, that they should not be moved from their departments, for any reason. What that meant, was that I would be moved, come what may. On my path, since I had no godfather like them, I turned to the ultimate godfather, the Almighty God, for support.

Anyway, after going back and forth, several times, during the meeting, the chairperson ordered me to vacate my position and move to the one they had in mind for me. Immediately, I rose to my feet and told her I accepted her order as a child of God, and I sat down.

Nevertheless, right within me, I felt seriously hurt, but confident that the Lord would fight for me regardless. One thing then led to another, and the chairperson reversed herself, upbraided the doctors involved in the plot to dislodge me, and ordered their ringleader to proceed to the said department, straight away. After that, she turned to me and asked me, politely, to remain where I was. I did, and I ended up doing very well there, helping numerous people and honoring God with the talents He gave me. I give Him praise!

Friend, those doctors gathered against me, not because of God, and they fell for my sake (Isaiah 54:15). In like manner, God shall cause those who gather against you, not because of Him, to fall for your sake, from now on, in Jesus name. Amen.

They shall fall for your sake for God to save your children (Isaiah 49:25). Also, they shall fall, for your business to thrive; remember He wants you to prosper at any rate (3 John 2). Besides, those who gather against you to cause you afflictions (pains) shall fall for your sake, and the Lord shall deliver you (Psalm 34:19). In the same way, those who gather against you to spoil your name shall fall for your sake, and the Lord shall give you a new one, without fail (Isaiah 62:1-2).

To cut a long story short, henceforth, anyone, any circumstance, or any institution, etc., that gather against you for wrong reasons, shall fall for your sake, so that you can enjoy the amazing plans God has in store for you (Jeremiah 29:11), in Jesus name. Amen.

Jesus is Lord!
